Satair and Ducommun ink first deal ever thanks to Farnborough

Exactly two years ago, the Farnborough International Airshow formed the scenery for the very first meeting about the possibility of appointing Satair as exclusive global distributor for certain engine cable assemblies manufactured by Ducommun. Quite symbolically, the 2014 Farnborough Airshow completes the circle by once again setting the scene for the now inking of a deal that makes Satair the authorised aftermarket provider through an exclusive and global distribution contract for certain Ducommun-built engine cable assemblies on the GE90 engine and cable assemblies on the CFM56 engine.

With the circle closed, Satair, a world leader in sales and distribution of spares for aircraft maintenance, is now the sole authorised distributor for these products. The business partnership with Ducommun, a global provider of innovative manufacturing and engineering solutions for aerospace, defence and other technology driven markets, is the very first of its kind.

With Satair as our distributor our customers are ensured product availability and AOG support, physical distribu-tion, warranty and exchange capabilities, and last but not least, reduced transaction and inventory costs."

"The deal is focused on meeting customer needs. With around 3 million part numbers in a typical commercial aircraft - supplied by as much as 1,000 suppliers - it is by all means our customers’ preference to limit the number of suppliers," Karsbo ends.
