Avianca S.A. chooses to implement the Airbus Managed Inventory (AMI) Service

Press release   •   Feb 03, 2016 09:10 CET

Airbus subsidiary Satair Group’s tailor-made AMI solution is made to optimize inventory management by ensuring that high-usage and non-repairable parts are automatically replenished at Avianca S.A.’s facilities. This happens whilst guaranteeing parts availability and decreasing inventory stock levels, leading to improved base maintenance services for Avianca S.A

Paul Lochab, CCO of Satair Group says: “We are pleased that Avianca S.A. has been satisfied with the AMI trial and has now chosen to go with the Airbus Managed Inventory solution which is tailor-made for the supply chain requirements of our industry. We are confident that the AMI service will prove to be just the right tool for Avianca S.A. to support the inventory planning activity, as a key factor for performing the different maintenance tasks of the airline”

Fernando Moreno, Director of Materials at Avianca continues: ”We are very happy to have signed this AMI agreement to support us in minimising our spares investment and inventory costs while maximising delivery of parts when needed. We are certain that the AMI solution will minimise and secure costs while optimizing our end-to-end supply chain solution.”

The AMI automated inventory management solution supports Airbus customers in reducing their inventory holding costs. By capturing material consumption information in real-time and automatically triggering replenishment orders within the agreed inventory levels, the service guarantees high on-shelf part availability while decreasing the overall inventory stock level, reducing the cost of ordering material.

Lochab ends: “AMI is a prime example of how Satair Group provides world-class material management and supply-chain services and solutions to world-class customers.”
